Right now, the House of Representatives is considering legislative proposals that would be harmful to immigrants already living in the United States, as well as to those seeking protection from harm — including the most vulnerable among us: children.
These proposals would take us backwards as a country, rather than fixing our broken immigration system. We’ve won huge victories for immigrant families in recent months and we can’t let anti-immigrant proposals in Congress stop the President’s executive action on immigration or stall our progress!

As people of faith, we need to stand with our immigrant brothers and sisters: young people and families whose lives will be changed by the President’s executive action, children seeking protection from gang violence, and all individuals fleeing persecution who see the United States as a beacon of hope, safety and freedom.
Urge your Representative to oppose any piece of legislation that weakens our asylum system or narrows the criteria for immigrants whom our nation will protect.

“I’m from City, State, Congregation/Community and as a person of faith, I urge Rep. [NAME] to oppose any proposal that would hurt immigrant families including certain amendments to the DHS Appropriations bill and H.R. 191 sponsored by Rep. Aderholt. Congress should support the President’s actions and it’s smooth implementation and take steps towards fixing our broken immigration system in a way that is humane and just.”
